L’Anse aux Meadows (1000AD), New Foundland, Canada 2019

The vikings came to L’Anse aux Meadows in year 1000, a group of teenagers and young men and women.
In 1968 a few artefacts were found and excavation showed where the houses had been.
it is presumed that this was their winter quarter, and they spend summers exploring the coast father south.
The last vikings probably left America around 1040.

The nearest airport is in St. Anthony, and from there you can drive to L’Anse aux Meadows in an hour. Or you can drive from St. Johns, it will take you at least two days.
You need a car, public transportation on New Foundland is almost non-existent.
Plenty of B&B’s around, and L’Anse aux Meadows has an excellent restaurant The Norseman Restaurant
