Ravning Bro (980AD), Denmark 2018

During the reign of King Harald Bluetooth 958-985/97, Denmark saw a lot of constructions, among those the viking fortresses and Ravning Bridge across Vejle Ådal.
The bridge was build just after year 980, it was 760 meters long and 5 meters wide, and for almost a 1000 years (until 1932) the longest bridge build in Denmark.
It only stood for around 50-100 years, because rotting parts were not replaced.

There are sometimes public transport from Vejle Station (Flex Traffic – where you have to order in advance), or else you need your own wheels.
It is around 15 km east, south east of Vejle and 13 km south of Jelling.

There is also a small museum close to the bridge reconstructions.
